(AFISA)

African Federation of Independent Schools Associations (AFISA) is a nonprofit organization bringing together national associations of independent schools and institutions in African countries. Through cooperation, AFISA collectively promotes the interests and development of private independent education sector in Africa. AFISA is an initiative of Uganda National Association of Private Schools and Institutions (UNAPSI) with projected support of Associations of Independent Schools in Africa.

Aims of the Federation:

- To bring together national associations of independent schools and institutions in African countries.
- To promote and safeguard the interests and values of independent private education in Africa.
- To promote the development of a coherent system of African Independent education industry sector.
- To Promote and strengthen the development of Independent Schools associations in Africa.
- To give active support and guidance to members of the Federation in their development of independent schools associations.
- To give active support and guidance to members of the Association in enhancing their contributions to society.
- To provide information and other services to members of the Federation.
- To represent African independent education sector and to influence policy making at regional and international level.
- To encourage cooperation between members of the Federation and the development of effective networks.
